The Trauma Information Pages site concentrates on emotional trauma, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and disaster mental health response, whether following individual traumatic experience(s) or a large scale natural disaster.
The primary target audience is clinicians, researchers, and students interested in traumatic-stress, but information and supportive links are provided for trauma survivors (and friends) as well. Much of the comprehensive information at this site can easily be translated into five foreign languages using Alta Vista's translation service. This award-winning site began on 19 April 1995 (one month after the Oklahoma City bombing), and is updated monthly.

Disaster Mental Health

This page (and material in selected links to other web sites) will continue to provide lots of information about disaster mental health (DMH) concepts, techniques, disaster preparedness, and about volunteering with the American Red Cross DMH team. The site includes detailed material on phases of response to disaster, typical reactions to traumatic events, defusing and debriefing techniques, self-care tips that can help victims and relief workers, and planning checklists to help manage relief operations. The site's information is also helpful to those processing other non-disaster traumatic life events (e.g.,
serious accidents, sudden loss of family, friends, or pets, health crises, and crime victimization) covering loss, grief, and bereavement. There is an extensive bibliography.

Psychosocial Assistance Without Borders

Los Angeles Center for traumatic stress and sudden bereavement

The Los Angeles Center for traumatic stress and sudden bereavement is a non-profit community organization that services children and adolescents in South-Central Los Angeles. The Center provides evaluation and assessment of these children following an acute event, with the mission of preventing the development of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as associated problems including Major Depression and Substance-Related Disorders. The Douglas Mental Health University Institute and the McGill University meet a need for quality information (HON code certified) on post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with this interactive website, which is actually the first to be created of its kind. The site’s objective is to help victims demystify PTSD, put a name on their disorder, take care of themselves and get help. INFO-TRAUMA has case studies and references from over 35 countries to help those in need get psychological and juridical help.
