Dr Rangi Matamua (Tūhoe) is the author of Matariki: Te whetū tapu o te tau | Matariki: The star of the year.

A Professor at University of Waikato, his research fields include Māori astronomy and star lore, Māori culture, Māori language development and revitalisation.
