Title: Building Air-Conditioning – Experiences from South America
Abstract: This talk will cover some of Fabio’s experiences as a HVAC and Energy Efficiency engineer. Three specific foci will be:
•Hydrocarbon natural refrigerants in air conditioning systems
•Energy performance analysis of chilled water and VRF systems
•Special considerations for high altitude air conditioning design and applications.
Fabio Clavijo has more than 40 year’s professional experience in Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) and Energy Efficiency in Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. Most of his career has been with Tecnaire Ltda, a HVAC consultancy company where he was ultimately President. He is currently President of the Colombian Chapter of the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He is a Life Member of ASHRAE, was Distinguished Lecturer for ASHRAE, and has received a Distinguished Service Award from ASHRAE. Some recent major HVAC projects include data centers in Bogota, a fertilizer production plant, Eldorado Airport National Aeronautical Centre and Quito International Airport.
