Looking for ways to manage your stress and enjoy life more? Maybe you’d like to try mindfulness, a great approach for building resilience for the year ahead!
Jane Terrell from the Centre for Teaching & Learning and Theresa Martinovich from Health & Counselling have teamed up to offer you this FREE short course (every Tuesday for 4 weeks) of Mindfulness Training, developed at Duke University in the USA. Jane and Theresa are keen to pass on the Koru approach, which they find very useful personally as well as professionally.
Although this practical, interactive course was developed for university students who are emerging adults, many Massey University staff and mature students have already participated in the Koru course. Typical comments include:
•The course was well structured. Learning the different meditations and making me think about me and the moment definitely had an influence on how I would approach the day and my relationships with others
•The group sessions, practice and discussion really helped me
•Activities to practice at home are really good
•Loved our textbook! Clear and insightful
•Now I will slow down, try not to multi-task; reflect more, enjoy the precious moments of life
•This course helped me in many ways! I feel equipped. Regained sense of time
Be quick to email Jane if you’re keen to register. 12 places only!
