The thrilling conclusion to the blockbuster Rurouni Kenshin live-action trilogy will be screened at Massey University’s Auckland campus next month, as part of the free monthly Japanese film nights.
After his confrontation with Shishio ends in defeat, Kenshin awakens at the home of his old master. With his mind set on revenge, he trains day and night to learn the final technique of his deadly fighting style.
With the world closing in on him, Kenshin will have to look inside himself to find the strength he needs to protect his friends and end Shishio’s reign of terror once and for all. As the two ex-assassins prepare for their final fight, the wanderer with the bloody past will learn which force truly drives him - his will to live or his killer instinct.
The final film in the trilogy follows on from Rurouni Kenshin, and Rurouni Kenshin – Kyoto Inferno.
Rurouni Kenshin – The Legend Ends will screen at Massey University’s Auckland campus at Albany on Wednesday March 1. The monthly Japanese films play on the first Wednesday of the month, at 6.15pm. Preceding the main feature is a short documentary on life and culture in Japan, which will start at 6pm. Unless specified, the films will be screened in the Atrium Round Room on the ground floor of the Atrium Building. There is free parking available on campus.
