Orientation to Teaching & Tutoring at Massey:

from Surviving to Thriving

Facilitated by Teaching Consultants Jane Terrell & Dave Snell

You are new to teaching at Massey. How can you ensure you will thrive as a lecturer here, not just survive? This practical workshop introduces you to Massey’s requirements, expectations and support for delivering a “distinctive learning experience” to your students.

Areas covered will include:

*Overview of teaching and tutoring at Massey, and NCTL support

*Applying key principles of learning theory to your teaching and tutoring

*Tips for teaching and tutoring interactively and checking your students are engaged

If you can, please bring with you your Course and Assessment Guides,

and your semester teaching plan.
