Published author Rawaa Salman will share with us how our surroundings and environment have great influence in shaping our identities. Change is possible and mostly likely will happen instantly or within years. There are stages that we go through when living in different environment. Rawaa herself went from stage one, to two, three and four. She used her Master’s research report on Middle Eastern international students living in New Zealand to write her novel “Rusul”. In this presentation she will talk about the change that Rusul and many other women go through in terms of behaviour, way of thinking, values and cultural beliefs when they settle in a new, different and western environment. You are welcome to bring your lunch, and grab a tea or coffee from the Library Staffroom
