Introduction to ZBrush

In this course students will be introduced to working with the digital sculpting, painting, and design tool, ZBrush. Starting from the basics of workflow navigation students will learn how to work with polygon ZTools, sculpt with a variety of brushes, and create an exciting character bust from ZBrush primitives using the same techniques applied in professional film, game, and collectable industries. This class will also cover ZBrush as a painting tool for creating highly detailed textures as well as how to render images directly from the

software.

Some of the core concepts discussed include:

- ZBrush interface navigation and customization

- Digital sculpting with ZBrush primitives

- The ZBrush brush menu and sculpting tools

- Dynamesh and dynamic volume sculpting

- ZApplink and Spotlight texturing technique

- Insert meshes

- Qremesh and dynamesh for rebuilding your base mesh

extracting normal and displacement maps

- ZBrush to Maya workflow

- Rendering in BPR
