Genesis and Organic Geometry

Naoko Tosa, this year's Japanese Cultural Envoy, is an internationally renowned new media artist. Her works have been collected by the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the National Museum of Art, Osaka, among others.

On display for one day only (24 February), will be two digital works, Genesis and Organic Geometry. In both works Naoka magnifies the intermixing of traditional Japanese pigments mobilised by viscous fluids and dry ice, using cutting-edge technology to create an immersive experience out of phenomena normally invisible to the naked eye. Naoko will transform the lighting studio at the College of Creative Arts into an environment that envelops the viewer in a sensual exploration of materials and temporality, via digital technology.

Naoko's Artists Talk will take place at 5.30pm on the 23 February, Level C Te Ara Hihiko
