At the conference (9am to 3pm Massey University Wellington, June 30) you will have the opportunity to ask questions about creative activism from a panel of artists.  There will be Kiwi artists in the room in person, plus international artists interacting with you via video link on the big screen.  Panellists include:

  • Amy Spiers (joining us live from London. Amy creates amazing socially engaged, politically provocative live performances, participatory situations and multi-artform installations for sites and galleries)
  • Dave Ojay (joining live from Africa, Dave is a musician, theatre maker and festival producer, the founder of the #justiceforlakevictoria online photography campaign, and a member of Climate Change Theatre Action 2017)
  • Genevieve Fowler (awesome slam poet, feminist, queer cabaret producer and fearless activist for gender and sexuality equality)
  • Harvey Molloy (award winning poet, climate action champion, teacher and environmental activism leader)
  • Alda Rezende (Brazilian-born singer who connects people through the power of music to cross cultural barriers)
  • Victor Rodger (award-winning playwright who confronts important issues of race and sexuality through theatre, and you may recognize him as an actor from the TV show Shortland Street too)

The day includes performances from the top finalists in the Create1World competition.

Make sure you register now to be part of New Zealand’s only creative activism conference designed especially for high school students.
