Established in 1873 in Selb, Germany, the NETZSCH Group is the world market leader in the development and manufacture of high precision instrumentation for thermal analysis and determination of thermophysical properties on almost any material. NETZSCH Analyzing and Testing have over 60 years applications experience in thermoanalytical testing methods and offer world-class commercial testing in their application laboratories. NETZSCH have a direct sales and service base in the ANZ region, offering unrivalled service and applications support to their customer-base across New Zealand.

This technical seminar will cover the thermal characterisation food, energy materials, biomass, polymers, batteries, pharma and other fields utilizing advanced materials. Methods covered will include DSC, TGA, Evolved Gas Analysis (TGA-GCMS, TGA-FTIR). We will also cover thermophysical property determination including thermal expansion/shrinkage using dilatometry, thermal conductivity determination (LFA) and viscoelastic property determination using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA). Combining thermoanalytical data with the unique NETZSCH Kinetics Neo package allows for shelf life determination of food and pharma products, optimisation of curing behaviour and simulation of extreme applications that cannot be measured experimentally.

Thermal characterisation and kinetic modelling are excellent tools for answering critical questions in the areas of product development, quality control & assurance, failure analysis and research and development of new products & materials. The goal of this seminar is to demonstrate the capability of these thermoanalytical methods with real life applications specific the interest areas of seminar attendees.
