Fee payment options

Once you have received your Confirmation of Enrolment you will be issued with an invoice which will detail when your fees are due.

You can pay your fees in a number of different ways:

Note: International students will need to pay fees in order to be issued a Receipt of Payment which is required for immigration purposes. The Receipt of Payment will be issued once your payment clears.

Credit card payment

You can pay your fees by credit card online from your student homepage. If you are in New Zealand you can pay in person at the Cashiers Office. The University accepts Visa or MasterCard.

Internet banking

Either deposit directly into the Massey University Bank Account for Tuition and Enrolment Fees by entering the account number 02-0630-0016592-004


select one of the bill payment options for Massey University held at your bank:

  • Massey University - Student Fees (for Enrolment and Tuition Fees).
  • Massey University - Student Other (for other payments such as Library Fines or Student Health charges).

Payment details for either payment method must be completed using the example given below; this will ensure quick allocation of your payment.

  • Particulars: <enter your name> e.g. "John Smith"
  • Code: <enter your student ID> e.g. "12345678"
  • Reference: "Fees"

Telegraphic transfer - international students

Western Union is Massey University’s preferred method of payment for international students. It provides a secure platform to make payment and is often much faster than a traditional telegraphic transfer.

Please note: You can click here to get access to Massey's Western Union account details so that you can transfer the funds via your internet banking service or from your local bank.

  • If your local currency is listed, you can transfer the funds using your internet banking system, or take the authorisation form to your local bank to complete a telegraphic transfer.
  • Due to international banking regulations transactions from some currencies are not available. If your currency does not appear as an option, please select an alternative currency such as USD$ and process the payment as a telegraphic transfer.

Cheque/overseas bank draft

Note: Where possible the draft should be drawn on a New Zealand bank and in New Zealand dollars.

For students who are in New Zealand, attach your bank draft/cheque to the 'Payment of fees' form (link below) and mail to Massey University, Private Bag 11222, Manawatu Mail Centre, 4442 Palmerston North, New Zealand  or pay in person at the Cashier’s office at any Massey University campus. Please print your name, student ID (if known) and address on back of the draft/cheque. 

All bank drafts/cheques must be made payable to Massey University and crossed "Not Transferable". Please do not post-date cheques.


For students who are in New Zealand payment can be made by EFTPOS or in cash at the Cashier's office  at any Massey University campus, quoting your full name and student ID. Do not send cash by mail.


Students whose fees are being paid by scholarship, will need to provide satisfactory evidence of the scholarship.in order for your enrolment to be completed (or for International students your Receipt of Payment to be issued).

Domestic students

The student loans scheme is run by StudyLink. They can assist you with student loan and student allowance enquiries.

International students

Information about USA and Canadian student loans are noted below:

Training Incentive Allowance (TIA)

TIA is available to some beneficiaries. For more details see the Work and Income website.

Employer paying

If your employer needs to be invoiced directly, this can be done by a purchase order. The following must be provided on the purchase order:

  • Company letterhead including full name and postal address
  • Email address for the invoice
  • Company contact name
  • Order number or identifier
  • Student name
  • Student ID number
  • Specific items to be invoiced (incl GST): eg
    • Enrolment Fee $60.00
    • Course 110.125 $1236.00
    • Course 154.256 $300.00 (part payment only)
