Massey University Undergraduate Scholarships are supported by the Massey University Scholarships Fund. This Fund has been established and is sustained by financial donations received from Massey University alumni, industry, and individual persons and bodies dedicated to supporting and encouraging people who are enrolled full-time or part-time internally or extramurally for undergraduate studies at Massey University.
Tenure and Value
The Massey University Undergraduate Scholarships will have a value up to $3000 each per annum for full-time applicants and will be pro-rated for part-time students. The Scholarship is open to students enrolled internally or extramurally for a first Bachelor's degree.
Candidates must have successfully completed a minimum of 120 credits at Massey University and be entering the second or subsequent year of a programme of study towards a Bachelor's degree. Consideration will normally only be given to students with a GPA of 7.0 or better (on a 9 point scale), or an A- average or better.
The scholarships are tenable only in New Zealand and candidates must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
The Scholarships will be awarded by the Scholarships Committee.
Conditions of the Award
In recommending the award of a Scholarship the Scholarships committee will take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicant with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of available monies among qualifying candidates.
Students may hold this scholarship more than once, up to a total value of $6,000.
Any re-application must be made within three years of the candidate's first application for the award.
Selection will be based solely on academic achievement.
One half of the monies will be paid in May and the balance in August subject to satisfactory academic progress.
Applications close with the Scholarships Office on 31 January in the year in which the award is to be made.
Applications will NOT be accepted more than 3 months in advance of the closing date.
