The Association has established a fund to provide an Annual Study Grant to be known as "The Counties Kiwifruit Growers ASB Study Grant."
The following Terms and Conditions will govern this award:

1.The award's annual value will be determined by the Association each year and is to be supplemented by a grant of up to $250 from the Auckland Savings Bank. It is envisaged that the annual grant will not exceed $500.

2.The term of each award is to be one year.

3.The bursary will be tenable at either Lincoln or Massey Universities for studies leading to qualifications in Horticulture. It is preferred that at least one year of study has been completed prior to applying for this award.

4.A selection committee comprising 2 Association members and a Horticultural Consultant from Agricultural New Zealand shall select one recipient for the award each year. If more than one applicant is considered to be suitable for the award in any year, the selection committee may split the award. If no suitable applicants exist in any year the award may be withheld.

5.Preference may be given to applicants who are:

(a)closely related to past or present members of the Association

(b)pursuing qualifications specialising in fruit growing

(c)resident (or whose parents are resident) in the Franklin District Council region.

6.Applicants must furnish written applications for this award, stating their work experience, course of study and previous academic history and must be prepared to meet the selection committee either for pre-selection interview or for presentation of the award.

7.Applications close 31 October and are to be sent to: The Secretary, Counties Kiwifruit Growers Association, C/- Rob Craig, 646 Glenbrook Road, RD 4, Pukekohe 2679.
