VICE-CHANCELLOR’S INNOVATION AND ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP AT ALBANY CAMPUS - CRITERIA

ACROSS NORTH SHORE, WEST AUCKLAND AND NORTHLAND SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The purpose of the Massey University Auckland Vice-Chancellor’s Innovation and Academic Excellence Award is to reward student achievement for academic excellence at secondary school and to recognise innovative thinking. The successful scholarship recipients musts be committed to study and completing a degree on the Auckland campus at Albany.
CRITERIA - APPLICANTS MUST BE:
1Attending a North Shore, West Auckland or Northland secondary school.
2Intending to study full-time in an undergraduate degree programme at Massey University Auckland campus
3Achieved a minimum of 20 NCEA level 2 credits (or the equivalent in CIE or IB)
4Have results which reflect a level of excellence across a range of subjects recognised by an endorsement of Excellence or Merit, and/or excellence within the subject areas of proposed study
5A NZ citizen or permanent resident.
The scholarship is worth $5,000 towards a full-time student enrolled for the first year of study in the following year at Massey University Auckland campus.
1Application form completed and signed, including supporting documentation
2Massey University student ID number (phone 0800 MASSEY - 0800 627 739)
3A supporting statement from your Year 13 Dean, Principal or Careers Advisor
4Attach copy of your official interim NCQA Level 2 results (issued in January) or exam equivalent eg Cambridge/ Baccalaureate
5A copy of your interim results for NCEA Level 3 or exam equivalent eg Cambridge / Baccalaureate
6Latest (mid year) school report
7If Maori or Pasifika, proof of descent.
CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE
1The award is conditional on the student gaining entry to university in an undergraduate degree programme.
2Student must be enrolled in a full-time programme of study.
3This scholarship will not be awarded to a student who has also been awarded another Massey University
4Scholarship for the same year of study.
5Awards may be deferred in exceptional circumstances. A letter must be submitted outlining the reasons for requesting deferment; a deferment must also be approved by the programme leader; deferment can only be approved for a maximum of one year.
6The scholarship is for the first year of study, and will be paid in two instalments in April and August, upon confirmation of enrolment. Payment for Semester 2 is subject to review of academic performance in Semester 1.
