Up to 5 travel grants of $2000 per year, will normally be available to students who are in their 3rd, 4th or 5th year of study for a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Massey University, and who travel to see practice at the Clutha Veterinary Association.

Grants will be awarded annually for each year’s study but recipients may be eligible for a scholarship in more than one year. Applications for the 2018 academic year are due by 10 December 2017.

Grants will be awarded at the discretion of the Board of Directors of the Clutha Veterinary Association. Preference may be given to students who are normally resident in Clutha Vets practice area or who have a particular interest in rural veterinary practice.

Need, as well as academic attainment will be taken into account when selecting recipients. Students holding a Clutha Veterinary Association Travel Grant will be expected to spend two weeks seeing practice in Balclutha or Milton during the year for which it is awarded.

Payment of the award will be made as a lump sum on the first occasion the recipient visits the practice.

Applicants are required to attach a brief one page covering letter which explains a little about themselves, their areas of interest, and likely career aspirations.

For more information see or contact Sue McNutt on 03 418 1280.

All applications are acknowledged by email.

PLEASE NOTE: applications are not available until approximately one month prior to the closing date.
