Students interested in studying Agriculture at a tertiary level are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship is for one year, but under special circumstances applicants can apply for more than one year.

Applications shall be made on a bursary application form and in addition a current school report (copy) should be included covering the candiates academic report, special postitions of responsbility held at school and participating in school activities.

Successful applicants will be notified before Christmas and payment of the awards will be made upon receipt by the Trustees of confirmation of enrolment.


For the advancement of education and especially in relation to forestry, horticulture, agriculture, pastoral farming and any other type of farming generally and to farming-related fields such as teaching and research into all aspects of farming, veterinary services and the like.


Mid November each year (note: Scholarship adverts are placed in all local newspapers at the end of October, beginning of November each year).

Applicants must have attended at some stage during their secondary schooling: Patea, Hawera, Opunake, Okato, Inglewood or Stratford High Schools or St Mary's Diocesan School.

The Trustees reserve the right to interview applicants but normally interviews are not required.
