agriculture and horticulture
Level of study
The Janet Murray Scholarship encourages postgraduate research in agriculture.
This bursary was established under the will of Janet Murray of Auckland.
Value and tenure
The value of the bursary is determined each year from the interest earned on the capital.
The scholarship is usually awarded annually and the tenure is for a single academic year.
At the discretion of the University all, or part, of the annual interest may be reinvested to maintain the value of the capital fund so the bursary may not be granted each and every year.
Typical number on offer
One scholarship is typically offered each year.
Applicants must be enrolled full time in a postgraduate degree or a postgraduate diploma in Applied Academic Programme disciplines relevant to agriculture or horticulture (course prefix of 111, 112, 117, 119, 138, 171, 188, 189, 238 and 239) at Massey University.
The selection criterion is academic merit.
The University Scholarships Committee may take account of other scholarships and bursaries held by the applicants in seeking an equitable distribution of funds.
The scholarship is awarded by the University Scholarships Committee on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee.
The University Scholarships Committee has the right to refrain from making an award if there are no suitable applicants and its decision is final.
Conditions of the scholarship
The Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee may withdraw or suspend an award at any time if the recipient fails to make satisfactory academic progress.
The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships, bursaries or awards, so long as those scholarships, bursaries or awards permit co-tenure.
The closing date for applications is 10 March. Incomplete or late applications are not accepted.
Application cannot be accepted before 10/12/2018.
