1.The bursary shall be known as the New Zealand Planning Institute® Bursary.
2.The purpose of the bursary is to assist students who might not otherwise be able to take or to complete any course of planning studies approved by the Council as leading to any qualification recognised by the Institute.
3.Applicants must be student members of the New Zealand Planning Institute®.
4.The value of the bursary awarded shall generally be $1,000 to each of the universities offering courses recognised for membership of the Institute. This amount may be divided among 2 or more students from the same university, at the discretion of the NZPI® Council.
5.The Council shall not award any bursary without first obtaining a suitable recommendation from a person recognised by the Council as being responsible for the conduct of the recognised planning course the applicant proposes to undertake.
6.Any bursary granted shall become payable during the first term of the academic year unless granted for the continued support of a student already enrolled, in which case it shall be paid as soon as possible after being approved by the Council.
7.Applications for any bursary must be lodged with the Secretary of the NZPI® through the person making the recommendation in 5 above using any specific format.
8.Applications must reach NZPI®, Box 52046, Kingsland, Auckland 1352 by 30 June in the year the applicant wishes to take the recognised planning course, except that application for support for students already embarked on a course may be made at any time.
Application cannot be accepted before 30/03/2018.
