This bursary is supported by the combined funds of the Ornamental Horticulture Trust Award and the M W L and N Gosling Bequest.
1.The value of the Gosling Ornamental Horticulture Bursary shall be determined each year from the interest earned on the capital fund.
2.The bursary shall be open to candidates enrolled full-time for a degree in horticulture at Massey University. Applicants must show in their application that they are interested in pursuing a career in growing ornamental plants, either in the nursery industry, cut-flower production or management of parks.
3. The bursary is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, from New Zealand or overseas, though preference may be given to undergraduate applicants from New Zealand.
4.The bursary shall be awarded annually as funds permit on the recommendation of the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee provided applications are of sufficient academic merit. Other factors may be taken into consideration.
5.The bursary monies shall be paid in May.
6. Applications close on the 3 March in the year in which the award is to be made. Application forms (ASSC.2) can be downloaded here. Completed applications are to be sent to Dr Kerry Harrington, K.Harrington@massey.ac.nz. Alternatively, hard copy applications can be delivered to Dr Kerry Harrington’s office AH 302.
All applications are acknowledged by email.
Applications will NOT be accepted more than 3 months in advance of the closing date.
Application cannot be accepted before 10/12/2018.
