1.The Sports Turf Bursary is funded by the New Zealand Turf Culture Institute for the purpose of encouraging postgraduate study in sports turf management and related topics.
2.The bursary is to the value of $1,000 per annum.
3.The bursary is open to postgraduate students at Massey University who are undertaking research into some aspect of turf culture or a related discipline.
4.The bursary shall be awarded by the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee.
5.The recommendation for an award shall be based on the candidate's academic attainment. Preference will be given to persons who have given an indication that they intend to pursue a career in turf management. The Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee may refrain from recommending an award in any year if it finds no candidate of sufficient merit.
6.In recommending the award of the bursary the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee shall take account of other bursaries and scholarships held with a view to achieving a reasonable distribution of monies among qualifying candidates.
7.The bursary shall be paid in May.
8.Applications close on the 10 March in the year in which the award is to be made. Application forms (ASSC.3) can be downloaded here. Completed applications are to be sent to Dr Kerry Harrington, K.Harrington@massey.ac.nz. Alternatively, hard copy applications can be delivered to Dr Kerry Harrington’s office AH 302.
All applications are acknowledged by email.
Applications will NOT be accepted more than 3 months in advance of the closing date.
Application cannot be accepted before 10/12/2018.
