Dr Anastasia Bakogianni
Senior Lecturer in Classical Studies
School of Humanities Media and Creative CommA little about myself: I was awarded my PhD from the University of London and worked at several UK universities before joining the Classical Studies team at Massey. My research and publications focus on Greek tragedy and its reception in the modern world. I am fascinated by the continuing appeal of ancient Greek and Roman culture and the many ways in which these ancient civilizations remain relevant today. But more importantly, I like to investigate why the Graeco-Roman classics still 'speak' to us and what it is exactly that we think they have to say to us.
