Research Expertise

Research Interests

My current research interests include computer vision, speech analysis and machine learning.

In particular, I am interested in the use of computational methods in the field of ecology: automating and enhancing individual animal photo-identification using computer vision and the use of speech analysis techniques for birdsong modelling and analysis.

I am also interested in the application of deep learning techniques to problems within computer vision, speech recognition/synthesis and bioacoustics.

I am interested in bringing the benefit of some of these computational techniques directly to ecologists by making them available in a dolphin photo-id software - Photo Id Ninja.
