  • The helicopter PCATD developed by the researcher for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust was awarded the CAA Certificate No. STD 34326 Synthetic Training Device Certification. The PCATD was certified for twenty hours Instrument Ground Training Time towards an Instrument Rating and also received seven other ratings and approvals - NZ Civil Aviation Authority (2010)
  • The Diamond DA 40 PCATD developed by the researcher for the Massey School of Aviation was awarded CAA Certificate Massey University School of Aviation Diamond DA 40 S/N 046878-2 Synthetic Training Device Certification. The PCATD was certified for ten hours Instrument Ground Training Time towards Instrument Rating and also received six other ratings and approvals. - NZ Civil Aviation Authority (2011)

Research Interests

My research focuses on the design and implementation of low cost flight simulation devices for pilot training; the design and development of low cost force-feedback flight control systems for flight simulators; the development of remotely piloted aerial systems to assist isolated communities; and the development of mobile development applications for pilot training.
