Associate Professor Penny Back

Associate Professor

Doctoral Supervisor
School of Agriculture and Environment

Completed a B Agr Sc degree (Massey, 1989) and then a PhD in lactational physiology (1991) in conjunction with Massey and AgResearch investigating a hormone and nutritional interaction in milk protein synthesis. More recently I have worked on studies manipulating milk components through breed differences and feeding, and the production of hyper-immune milk. Currently my research focuses on how uterine infection influences ovarian follicle dynamics, and the maternal effects of aging on ovarian follicle dynamics.
