My research interests are in the theory and application of mathematics and computer science. The first area is Euler equations on diffeomorphism groups, with a particular focus on shape analysis. Applications of shape analysis include medical imaging, machine vision, and biology, with my focus being the first of these. The second area in which I work is machine learning, including its application to human behaviour recognition and smart homes, and also to software. Finally, I have an interest in complexity, complex systems and scientific computation, particularly the links between the theory of complex networks and more traditional graph theory.
