All currently registered Doctoral candidates are required to accept the annual Offer of Place in their programme for the 2013 academic year. Thsi should be done without delay.
The only action the candidate must take is to consider and accept a formal Offer of Place, which is provided to them by GRS as an emailed link. The candidate can view and confirm their enrolment status and fees information from that link.
All other administrative steps are carried out on the candidate's behalf by the Graduate Research School, to make the process as convenient as possible.
The requirement for Doctoral candidates to accept an annual offer of place is set out in the University's Enrolment Regulations, as follows:
"Candidates will need to enrol for each successive year by accepting an Offer of Place and receiving a Confirmation of Enrolment. Details of fees will be available each year before enrolment is completed." For the full regulation go to https://www.massey.ac.nz/massey/about-massey/calendar/statutes-and-regulations/enrolment-regulations.cfm
Supervisors do not have a direct part to play in the Offer of Place process; but they are encouraged to prompt candidates to complete the acceptance step as quickly as possible. The annual Offer of Place, acceptance and receipt of a Confirmation of Enrolment is a requirement of all persons enrolled at a University under the TEC Learner Requirements. As such, the Offer of Place and its acceptance are vital steps in securing SAC funding revenue for research supervision.
