Ranvir is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Hydrology and Soil Science at Massey University. He specializes in application and advancement of water accounting, water productivity and water footprinting methodologies to assess and improve water use and its management in private and public sectors.
Ranvir has been participating and contributing in the Water Footprint Network’s Technical Working Groups to advance the water footprint assessment methodology and develop practical guidelines and tools for its application. He is also serving as a member of the Standards New Zealand International Review Group on Life Cycle Assessment, New Zealand representative on the ISO 14046 “Water Footprint: Requirements and Guidelines” Working Group.
Ranvir has a Masters in Soil and Water Engineering (1999) from the CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (India), and a PhD in Environmental Sciences (2005) from the Wageningen University and Research Centre, Wageningen (The Netherlands). Since 2000 he has gained significant knowledge and experience while working in different projects related to water management at different scales in India, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
