About Massey University

Massey University is New Zealand's defining university operating across three major campuses at Auckland, Palmerston North and Wellington. Massey is characterised by the applied nature of many of its teaching and research programmes and by its special expertise in the fields of Sciences, Food Technology, Creative Arts, Social Sciences, Education and Business.

Academic staff in many fields are internationally renowned, and leading-edge research is being undertaken across the academic colleges often in collaboration with other universities, research institutions and industry. Massey has a proud record of using this expertise to work with developing countries, and its focus on technology and business is also meeting new international demands.

Our international student environment

Massey University is one of New Zealand's largest universities with more than 34,000 students studying across the University's campuses, including welcoming about 4,000 International Students from more than 100 countries each year. We also have a growing number of international students studying virtually through our world-class distance education programmes.

Massey has over 100 active international relationships and academic agreements with foreign universities which in part foster study abroad and student exchange opportunities for encouraging student mobility and diversity.

At Massey we pride ourselves on the relevance of our programmes; on our openness to students of diverse backgrounds spanning age, geographic location, educational background, ethnicity and culture; on the support we provide for students through our commitment as signatory to the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students; and on the relationships we have built with our alumni worldwide.

International Office

The International Office is the first point of contact for international visitors and students. If you are a prospective International Student, we welcome your further enquiry and look forward to the possibility of you joining the Massey community.
