English Language programmes for International Students at Massey University
Massey University offers a number of English language programme options for students who seek to improve their English language proficiency.
All students in the English programmes are in classes specifically tailored to their English language level. Each programme focuses on the key skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Three different programmes are available, they are:
1. Certificate in English Language for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
There are four Certificates of ESOL levels: Introductory, Lower Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced. Students are tested on arrival at Massey and are placed in the appropriate level of study based on their current English ability. Students who successfully complete a level are eligible to attend the Massey University Graduation ceremony and receive a certificate.
2. Certificate of Attendance in General English (CAGE)
The Certificate of Attendance in General English is designed to improve students' English language skills. It provides students a flexible enrolment option where they can enrol for 4-12 weeks.
3. Direct Entry English Pathway (DEEP)
The Direct Entry English Pathway is a course in Academic English and Study Skills for students preparing to take pre-degree, undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at Massey University.
