Important Information for U.S. Federal Aid Students

Once Massey University has received all the necessary application information, we will assess your eligibility, and prepare an Award Letter that outlines the cost of attendance and calculates the maximum amount that you can borrow for each of the loan types for which you are eligible to borrow.

When you receive your Award Letter you will be asked to specify how much you wish to borrow and to sign your agreement. You will need to familiarise yourself with Massey's policies relating to administration of US Financial Aid.

Your Award Letter can be used as evidence of your ability to pay fees, and if you are a new student you can request a confirmation of place at Massey University from the Admissions Team on the basis of your award letter. As long as you are borrowing sufficient loan funds to meet your tuition costs, you will not be required to make payment in advance.

Sometimes Immigration New Zealand will accept the award letter as evidence of sufficient funds for visa purposes, however this is at their discretion and is not guaranteed.
