I completed PhD in Aviation from Massey University in 2013, I have worked with University of South Australia (Lecturer at Aviation Department) in 2013 and 2014. I joined Massey University (School of Aviation) as Senior Lecturer to teach aviation undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In terms of the employment in the aviation industry, I have worked in Hong Kong’s aviation industry (major airlines and Hong Kong International Airport) for more than five years.

I have attended international aviation, tourism and economic conferences and published 19 papers in aviation/air transport, tourism-related, and economic journals. Six of my papers have been published in Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, and Urban Studies - an A* grade journal (ABDC quality journal list). To recongise my excellent research achievement, Massey University awarded me “the Massey University College of Business - Early Career Research Award” in October 2015. In addition, I act the reviewer for eight (8) journals (Tourism Management, Journal of Air Transport Management, Tourism Management Perspectives, New Zealand Economic Papers, Transportmetrica A: Transport Science, the Annuals of Regional Science, Transport Policy, and Journal of Destination Marketing & Management). Currently, my research interest are the development and application of state-of-the-art techniques and methodology to investigate and analyse the contemporary issues related to air transport and tourism sectors. I enjoy research supervision and is looking to grow the cohort of PhD and Master students.

I have a strong interest in exploring the dynamics of the air transport industry and the tourism sector in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly:

  • airline and airport demand forecasting

  • the development of airline and airport networks and global airline strategic alliances

  • airport productivity and efficiency

  • the air transport regulatory environments

  • future tourism activities and trends and its relationship with air transport industry
