The Department of Communication, Journalism and Marketing, Massey University, in association with Pearson Education, is pleased to announce the Pearson Prizes in Marketing.
The prizes are awarded each semester to the students receiving the highest marks in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate marketing papers. Both internal and distance learning students studying through the Manawatu Campus are eligible for the prizes.
The prize in each paper is a textbook of the student’s choice from the Pearson textbook catalogue. The winners are advised after marks are finalised at the end of each semester.
The International Association of Business Communicators, Wellington Chapter, is pleased to support Communication postgraduate students at Wellington studying in 219.790 Communication Research Methods. Please contact Prof Sligo for further details on this.
There are a range of prizes and scholarships available for students on the Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism. These include cash prizes for the top-performing students and scholarships for students to work at newspapers in Asia. Prizes and scholarships
The Pearson New Zealand Prize in Public Relations Practice has an annual value of $250 comprising book vouchers. (The vouchers will be valid for 1 year from the date of the prize being awarded.) It is awarded annually to the student in the School of Communication, Journalism & Marketing who is enrolled internally at any campus or is enrolled as a distance student but is resident in New Zealand, who gains the highest overall marks in 219.209 Public Relations Practice.
This prize is awarded to the student in the Department of Communication, Journalism & Marketing who is enrolled internally at either Wellington or Manawatu or is enrolled by Distance Learning but is resident in New Zealand, who gains the highest overall marks in the paper 219.305 Public Relations Management.
The prize is complimentary one-year full membership to the Public Relations Institute, valued at $250 plus GST, plus a complimentary single delegate registration at one PRINZ CPD seminar of the student's choice, valued at approximately $400 plus GST.

There are a number of general awards for which Business Studies students, both postgraduate and graduate, are eligible. The most widely available of these awards, and of particular interest to those students interested in undertaking postgraduate study, are the Massey Scholarships. These postgraduate scholarships are awarded to leading students in all Colleges at the rate of one scholarship to every 20 students graduating with a first degree.
Value: $4,000 providing the holder undertakes postgraduate study within one year of graduation.
