Newspaper reporter, Australia
I chose Massey because it had a reputation for being the best. It was a specially tailored course aimed at producing well-trained journalists. The lecturers offered constant mentorship and support.
The Massey course was full of opportunity. It allowed me to travel to Asia on a student exchange and work in some top newsrooms.
The course also put me in touch with past and present students, who had similar interests and passions to me. These people became good friends and went on to be industry contacts as well.
My advice to anyone considering this course would be to go for it. You get out what you put in. It can be as rewarding as you make it, whether that be finding stories, volunteering or showing people how hard you are willing to work.
