Dr Tripe came to Massey University in 1994 after 17 years of banking experience.
His personal research interests include bank performance and balance sheet structure, bank asset and liability management, systemic risk in banking and the related issues of macroprudential policy and bank capital, payment systems, the international expansion of banks, and other issues in banking management.
He is the director of Massey University’s Centre for Financial Services and Markets. His research is widely published and Dr Tripe is a regular media commentator on banking, interest rates and monetary policy issues.
