Management Analytics and Decision Making

The Management Analytics and Decision Making (MAD) group is a research group at the Massey Business School based in the discipline of  information and knowledge management.

The core focus of their research is to understand the human dimension of community and business computing; the adoption and diffusion of technology within society and the effect of the digital divide.

  • Dr Ali Intezari Harsini

    Dr Ali Intezari Harsini

    Senior Lecturer - School of Management

    Dr. Ali Intezari is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Management, Massey University, Auckland, New Zealand. Current research interests include  Organisational Wisdom theory, Strategic Decision-making, Technology and Business, Knowledge Management, and Organizational Knowledge Culture.

  • Associate Professor David Pauleen

    Associate Professor David Pauleen

    Associate Professor in Business Information Systems - School of Management

    David J. Pauleen (PhD) is an associate professor in the School of Management, Massey University, Albany, New Zealand. Current research issues interests include emerging work practices, personal knowledge management, cross-cultural information and knowledge management, virtual team leadership, dynamics, communication and technology, and more recently, the role of  wisdom in management. His work has appeared in such journals as the Journal of Management Information Systems, Sloan Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics,  Journal of Knowledge Management, and the Journal of Information Technology. He is also (co-) editor of four books, most recently A Handbook of Practical Wisdom (2013).

  • Dr Shane Scahill

    Dr Shane Scahill

    Senior Lecturer - School of Management

    Shane started at Massey in January 2014 following 15 years self-employment in primary care including: consulting, project management, clinical teaching and research. Shane teaches into the entrepreneurship and health services management streams and has linkage with the School of Nursing. His research specialisation is investigating the relationship between organisational culture and effectiveness. Shane is a pharmacist and most of his research has been within primary health care. In the health context; collaboration, organisational sub-cultures, performance, knowledge management and the influence of social networks on outcomes is of interest. Entrepreneurship within health care is an area of pursuit for Shane.
