Zoe Port BBS (Honours)

Assistant Lecturer

School of Management

Having spent a few years working in the field of human resources, I chose to return to postgraduate study with a particular goal of conducting research that would contribute to making New Zealand workplaces safer. I was fortunate to be welcomed into the Healthy Work Group in Massey's School of Management in 2016 while completing my Honours year.

I have recently commenced my PhD with the Healthy Work Group, which will be focused around the HWG’s development of a New Zealand psychosocial risk programme. I am currently in the planning and literature review stage, and am seeking a strong theoretical angle from which to base my research. My PhD will have a practical focus, and it is hoped that one of its final outputs will include the adaptation of an instrument for measuring psychosocial risk, tested specifically for the New Zealand context.

As an Assistant Lecturer in the School of Management I am currently the course coordinator for 115.115 Management in Context, Massey's core first year management paper. Teaching this crucial core paper provides a rewarding opportunity to interact with Massey's future business graduates, and I enjoy being able to enhance course content by sharing my own recent experience as a business graduate working in the industry.

I am an Assistant Lecturer in Massey's School of Management, currently teaching on a number of first year papers. I enjoy juggling these teaching duties with completing my PhD, which is focused on developing a method of measuring psychosocial risk for New Zealand workplaces.
