History and Theory

Critical thinking is integral to the art, design, and photography programmes offered at CoCA. A strong relationship between studio practices and their historical and theoretical contexts provides graduates with:

- both broad and discipline specific, questioning, and informed approaches to contemporary creative practice.
- an understanding and critical awareness of the relationship between theory and practice
- opportunities for development of independent and critical judgment.

Through these approaches graduates of CoCA are equipped to be critical thinkers and informed, reflective practitioners.
