I came to Massey and New Zealand quite recently. I gained my PhD in the UK where I have also worked as a Lecturer in Sociolinguistics and English for Academic Purposes. Before entering academia I worked as an English teacher and before that in television news production.
My research interests include identity construction in mediated political discourse, representations of gendered identities in mass media texts, health communication, and online discourse communities.
