In the Bachelor of Food Technology (Honours) degree at Massey University, students are taught the fundamentals and application of food science, food engineering and food business in the selection, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution and use of safe, nutritious and wholesome food.

This is an intensive, full-time programme. The academic year commences in August each year and is divided into two semesters. All enrolled students have to attend a one-month Degree Preparation Programme before the beginning of Semester 1 in the first year. Thereafter, students need to complete successfully the series of compulsory courses listed below and 900 hours of practical work (industrial attachment) in order to be awarded with the Degree.
