Massey Institute of Food Science and Technology (MasseyFood) is a facilitator of world-class research. It is the leading and largest academic/research grouping in food and nutritional sciences in the Southern Hemisphere. The capability of School of Food and Nutrition staff align under seven expertise areas: Food Bioscience, Food Process and Engineering, Dietetics, Human Physiology, Health Bioscience and Human Nutrition

Our research informs our teaching. 



Our research is in the areas of dietetic practice, dietary assessment, obesity, metabolic health, healthy ageing and public health nutrition.

Our team focuses on the relationship between food structure and the properties of food materials.

Our focus is on the application of engineering principles to food technology and food production problems.

Our team have expertise across a range of subjects within the field of applied and clinical biomedical health.
