Entry into Part II of the BSW programme

The University Calendar states:

6. Candidates shall not enrol in Part II unless they have passed papers to at least 75 credits.

 7. Candidates must continue to meet the requirements for registration as set down by the New Zealand Social Workers Registration Board in terms of candidates being ‘fit and proper persons to practice social work’; Candidates must advise the Programme Coordinator of any change to their circumstances in this regard within 7 days, including any conviction or criminal charges pending. Annual confirmation of eligibility is required.  Please note that the provisions of the Criminal Records Act, also known as the Clean Slate Legislation, do not apply to social workers.  In addition, this form will be used in assessing student's suitability under the Vulnerable Childrens Act 2014.

As part of the selection process, students may be required to attend an interview (in person, via Skype or phone) with a BSW programme coordinator and/or academic staff.
