Entry into Part IV of the BSW programme

The following outlines the requirements and process for selection into Part IV of the BSW programme. If you have any questions or queries regarding this please contact the BSW Administrator at the campus you intend to study.  As part of the selection process students may be required to attend an interview with a BSW Programme Coordinator/and or other academic staff. The interview is usually called to discuss academic or personal/professional development issues (the interview may be by telephone, Skype or face-to-face).

In addition, this form will be used in assessing student's suitability under the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.

Entry into Part IV:

The Massey University Calendar states: Candidates shall not enrol for Part IV unless:

(i)They have been admitted to Part IV by a selection process approved by the Head of School.

Do you have any health condition or disability that may impact on your ability to undertake a placement?

I am aware that I may be called for an interview prior to the start of the academic year and that a police check will be completed for all students enrolling in 179.355 and 179.455.

For distance learning students - I am aware that there are COMPULSORY contact courses for the papers 179.310, 179.320, 179.330, 179.355, 179.410, 179.420, 279.401, 179.455 and 179.440 and that if I don’t attend these courses that I will not pass the paper(s).

By submitting this form I am acknowledging that I have read, understood and agreed to all the points above. The information that I have provided is true and correct and no information that would have any bearing on my ability to enter Year IV of the Bachelor of Social Work has been withheld.
