Previous experience either as athletes, coaches or management of elite sport is the foundation for a research interest in high performance.
Cycling-related research is a common theme, with research agenda centering on the physiology of junior racing cyclists, the physiological stresses of cross country mountain bike racing, warm up protocols and standing starts in track cycling, and nutritional factors related to recovery in endurance cycling. Modelling of performance in relation to pacing strategies and start position are also topics of research interest in the area of high performance sport.
