My Nursing background has mainly  been in Acute Care in Emergency,ICU,Renal,Neurosciences and Cardiac Units and wards.

I have been a Staff Nurse,Charge Nurse,After Hours Clinical Coordinator and Duty Manager at Tertiary level Hospitals.

I have held positions in Teaching in New Zealand and  NSW and Queensland in Australia.

I regularly go into clinical practice to keep updated.My areas of interest other than the acute  areas previously mentioned are in the preceptoring and support of Nursing students in clinical practice and simulation.

Supervision and Teaching


At Massey I teach in both the second and third year of the BN. My main areas however are teaching in the third year in 168:341-  Nursing in Acute Illness & Trauma , 168:342- Praxis IV paper, 168:344- Assessment and Clinical Decision- Making ll, 168:343- Professional Practice.

I  oversee the clinical programme and support,manage and train the Clinical Teaching Associates (CTA's) that Massey University employs.
