The 2017 AgHort Day has now taken place. But you can register your interest for next year now!
Are you a Year 12 or 13 student? Interested in studying agriculture or horticulture? The AgHort Day is a free, interactive, hands-on day hosted by Massey University. Have some fun and find out there's more to these subjects than you might think!
Massey is ranked the no.1 university in New Zealand for agriculture. No other New Zealand university is in the top fifty. This is due not only to our excellent teaching reputation, but our close links to industry and our work to help solve global agricultural challenges.
On the day you will find out about career options in horticulture and agriculture, experience what we do on our farms and our plant growth area and get hands-on with real projects.
We have study options in agricultural, animal and plant sciences, horticulture, agribusiness or equine – you can tailor your degree to your interests. Graduates with agriculture and horticulture degrees are in demand for well-paying jobs, so it's a great time to consider a career in this area.
We have $500,000 worth of scholarships in the agricultural area.
The largest Young Farmers' Club in New Zealand is also based at Massey. Massey Ag alumni David Kidd, won Young Farmer of the Year in 2014.
You can register to find out more about plans for the 2018 AgHort Day closer to the time.
