There are eight universities in New Zealand. Massey University is the only university offering an undergraduate three-year full-time bachelor's degree in construction with majors in either quantity surveying or construction management.
The Massey University Bachelor of Construction degree is a 3-year degree programme recognized internationally. The B Const (Quantity Surveying) is accredited by the Pacific Association of Quantity Surveyors (PAQS). Eight members countries of PAQS from the Asia Pacific region recognize our qualifications – these include New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and Sri Lanka. It is also accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) - the largest international property professional body that has its origin in the United Kingdom.
Many of the students work in industry (both within New Zealand or abroad) while studying during the third part of their degree. This is possible because all the courses offered at part 3 are on a distance learning (with contact workshops) or block mode. That means the students attend intensive lecture sessions on a limited number of days – typically three whole days per course. Some students even start working part-time in industry during their studies at part 2. Again this is possible because some of the courses at part 2 are offered on a distance learning (with contact workshops) or block mode. Massey’s well-known name as a leading distance learning education provider mean those committed to other interests like international sports at the highest levels can still continue to study at Massey University – wherever they may be around the world. Many top New Zealand athletes competing at top world championships such as the Olympics or the University World Games are students at Massey University.
Think career – consider construction. Consider construction – think Massey University.
