Prof Chris Riley BSc, BVSc(Hons), MSc, PhD, PGCertInnovMgt, Diplomate ACVS, Registered Specialist in Equine Surgery, MANZCVS

Professor of Equine Clinical Studies

Institute of Vet, Animal and Biomedical Sciences

Chris Riley's scientific research has focused on the development of biomedical tests for animal diseases using the emerging technologies such as infrared spectroscopy. He currently has funded research in immunity and immunoglobulins in multiple species including humans and newborns, arthritis diagnosis and regenerative technologies.. He also leads a team to identify factors associated with horse welfare during transport, and adverse horse realted injury in people. Chris is an internationally Registered Specialist in Equine Surgery, and has trained and led veterinary humanitarian teams to developed countries. These activities refelect his parallel interests in animal and human welfare, and a desire to utilise veterinary clinical skills and perform research that benefits both.

and how veterinary clinicians and researchers may use their skills and experience to benefit both.
