Entry pathways to the Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Most students enter the BVSc at the beginning of the professional phase, but there are occasional cases where you may enter or re-enter the programme later in the professional phase.

Find out more about the standard entry requirements on the programme pages here:

Below you will find entry requirements if you are applying under different circumstances.

Non-standard applications

In addition to the standard applications for domestic students, there are three additional non-standard sections under which an applicant may apply:

  • Treaty of Waitangi
  • Minority Group
  • Special Consideration

Entry via re-entry, challenge or transfer

An increasing number of students take some time out from BVSc studies due to parenting, personal, medical and family circumstances and seek to return at a later stage. Others wish for recognition of previous study.

Canadian and American applicants have the option to apply directly to Massey University or to apply through the Veterinary Medical College Application Service (VMCAS) for entry into the Massey BVSc programme.
