Five years ago I decided to move to New Zealand to study for my Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) degree at Massey University and I’m really glad I did. Having an internationally recognized degree will allow me to practice throughout the world.
I’ve been given unique opportunities and worked with a variety of species; from llamas to the iconic kiwi bird. I’ve also been given travel opportunities during the course, and spent a lot of time in the university clinic, assisted with calvings (in the snow) in the South Island, and worked on the spey and neuter rotation among the palm trees in Fiji.
The past five years at vet school have been the greatest adventure of my life. I’ve traveled around New Zealand and made life-long friends from around the world. I’ve not only developed into a versatile and capable veterinarian, but have grown personally and professionally.
